In October my husband and I went to M. M. in upstate NY for a long weekend. On every porch and in front of every fireplace in this huge resort hotel is a rocking chair. I became enamored by the rocking chairs and how relaxed I
felt every time I sat in one. When we arrived home I told my husband I was going to find the perfect rocking chair so I could learn to relax at home.
Well he decided that somewhere on this planet there was a perfect rocking chair for his wife. He is a computer Geek so he knows his way around the computer and quickly found your website and began showing me your chairs. They actually took my breath away as he showed me the catalog of gorgeous chairs.
In November my walnut chair arrived. Oh my goodness, I have never seen a rocking chair like yours. I sat in it and I was transported to a calm and peaceful place. This rocking chair is everything I had hoped it would be.
When my husband ordered it for me he stated, "You will rock our first grandchild in this chair and you will have it long after I am gone and then you will pass it on to our son who will pass it on to one of his children." The quality of your rocking chair is outstanding which guarantees it will last from generation to generation in our family.
I feel blessed to have one of your rocking chairs to treasure and then pass
on to my son who will pass it on . . .

Just to let all there know that the chairs received numerous compliments on the selection and placement of grain patterns, as well as on their superior
comfort. We would recommend them to anyone anywhere. Feel free to share our comments with potential future clients.
P.S. I told my 2 boys NOT to throw them out after I pass to the Great Beyond. Now they're trying to decide which 2 chairs to claim for themselves!
(all in good fun!)

I write to report that the delivery of my sister's new rocking chair was timely and that when unveiled on Christmas day was a great success! All marveled at the joinery, material, finish and ergonomics and greatly approved of the future heirloom. My nephew has visited his mom since
Christmas just to pet the chair. Congratulations on the creation of this
beautiful all-American work of art.

Hi Gary, I thought you'd like to know that our beautiful chairs arrived this morning. Those delivery guys are real go-getters! They got themselves on the 5:45 AM ferry and were here and unloaded by 7:00. Good thing we're early risers. The chairs are perfect, and I know that they will be enjoyed, not only by us, but by the next generations. It was a real pleasure doing business with you, and to feel the personal connection that will enrich our ownership of the pieces as the years go by. Many thanks.

The rocker arrived yesterday evening and I spent four hours in it. It's just beautiful. The joinery and satin finish on the wood are perfect and your artistry in design and construction as well as your craftsman's attention to detail is like nothing I've ever seen. Please pass on my compliments to everyone on your team that had a hand in this project. It is the finest piece of furniture in the house and will be an heirloom to be passed on to many generations in my family.
Very Sincerely and with my Best Regards,

I received the rocker this morning. It is beautiful and an amazing piece of work . . . it will be enjoyed and cherished for years and generations to

I have recieved the rocker and love it. Thank you! My rocker I got 24 years ago is going to my daughter who wanted the rocker which I got when I was pregnant with her and this rocker will be used to rock all of my grandchildren. Perhaps my granddaughter will use it to rock her children in.

R. and I want you to know how much we like our new dining room chairs, and
how much we appreciate your work. The chairs are so comfortable that we can now enjoy leisurely meals and conversation around the table without having to get up due to soreness from sitting too long. And they are beautiful! The chairs are identical and each one is different. They look and feel the same, but variations in the wood grain give each one an individual character. So in addition to having great seating for us and our guests at dinnertime, we find we have added works of art to our home. The quality of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail and finishing that went into these chairs is apparent whether we are looking at them, sitting in them, or both. We expect they will become family heirlooms and be enjoyed by our successors for generations to come.

Approximately three or so years ago, I received a walnut rocker which you made for me in your shop. I have never gotten around to contacting you and expressing my unwavering delight with this beautiful rocker. It is, of course, optimally comfortable comfortable for most anyone choosing to sit in it. I have
difficulty sitting in the rocker, because I'd rather look at it, being the elegant, gorgeously crafted piece that it is. At any rate, Mr. Weeks, thank you for a wonderful addition to my home. I, along with my children, and grand children thank you.
September 3, 2009
I received the furniture yesterday. Every piece was perfect. I know we will enjoy and treasure the furniture for our lifetime. It is something that our children will be able to keep in the family. Thanks again.
September 2, 2009
Yes I did receive my rocker and it is beautiful. The joinery is amazing. I am a dentist and precision fit is something I deal with on a daily basis. When I see the quality of your work it makes me proud to own something that was made by hand and done in a fashion that shows there are still craftsmen in America. I will treasure it always and pass it on to the next generation when my rocking days are through. The fit of the back rest could not be better unless you had made an impression of my back. Thank you and your entire crew for caring about what you do.

Our first son, R., was born on July 23 in Dallas. Already he is enjoying the pleasures of being rocked to sleep in our beautiful new Weeks rocker. Its the perfect height for anyone who wants to hold and cuddle him and comfortable for the duration of long rocking sessions! Well send you a photograph as soon as we sort through the dozens taken since R. joined this world.
Thank you again for your wonderful craftsmanship. D. and I consider ourselves mere caretakers of a beautiful piece that others will enjoy for generations to come.
All best wishes,

The rocker, stool and table arrived on Tuesday and we are absolutely delighted with them. M. has always wanted a rocker and never dreamt she would have such a fine rocker as the one you and your team crafted for her.
The whole process, from start to finish, has been a joy and our beautiful furniture will be treasured by the S. family for generations to come. I cant thank you and your team enough.
As of now the rocker is sat in the living room overlooking the marina and looks unlikely to make it to the nursery dont be surprised if you receive another order before very long!
My sincere thanks and very best wishes

The chair has arrived! The delivery company did a great job they called yesterday and gave me a 2-hour delivery window; they showed up at the beginning of that window. The package appeared completely unmolested, and the contents (chair and footstool) look perfect.
Little H. was a bit impatient to arrive; his due date was April 5, but he was born on April 2, so he's one week old today. K. is still asleep, trying to catch up after a long night, so she has not yet seen the chair, but I'm sure she will love it. I'll try to get a picture of mother and babe in the chair when the opportunity arises.
Thank you very much for your flexibility in finding a solution when our original specification proved problematic. I'm sure the chair and stool will be family heirlooms handed down from generation to generation.

Gary, I LOVE my rocker!!! I have been on the phone all day inviting people to come over to sit in it.
I was worried that it might not get here in time. I called the delivery people and they said Friday. Then day before yesterday, I was shopping and I got the call. It was at my door. I was at first annoyed because nobody told me about the change, but he waited and was so nice about it . . . and then when I opened that box . . .
No surprise. I knew it would be beautiful. But when I sat in it, it was like it was made for me. I wanted to cancel everything else I had going and just rock.
Thank you for making these terrific chairs, Gary. I've always believed that art should be functional. You prove that the functional can be art.
I might even share with guests. If they're nice.
Thank you. I will cherish it forever and give it to my new grand daughter as a wedding gift.
All the best to you and your talented family.

First, if I were to inform you that the rocker arrived but was a debacle of kindling with really nothing left to return, would you send me a new one with no questions asked? If that be the case, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Disregard the following.
We received the rocker in excellent shape on the 10th of December. I placed it in our living room and four days later my beloved discovered it finally! That is less a comment on her powers of observation and more of a comment that our lives have been a bit hectic. I now find her sitting in it, rocking, with what I can only describe as a slightly goofy grin on her face. I believe that she likes it.
I must tell you that it is rare in my experience to find excellent artistic ability combined with superb craftsmanship and we couldn't be more pleased with the rocker, in spite of the fact that it was made with firewood. Thank you. It will be an heirloom to be passed on to the next generation.
Happy Holidays. I look forward to hearing from you. And if the first paragraph applies, please disregard the rest of this missive.

Our rocking chair arrived yesterday in great shape and we love it. Your craftsmanship is like a work of art. We hope to enjoy it for many years and pass it on to our children.
Thank you for your wonderful workmanship and customer service.

Good afternoon Gary,
Our beautiful rocker arrived safely today. Hats off to you for the incredible attention to detail and workmanship!!! It's a beautiful and extremely comfortable rocker that we will enjoy for years and pass on to our children.

The furniture was delivered yesterday at 4:00. The delivery men took care of unwrapping and setting up the table and chairs. Your work is museum quality. Each piece is a work of art that I will cherish and proudly pass on to my children. And, as advertised, the chairs are unbelievably comfortable.
August 9, 2008
They love it. The chair fits nicely with their furnishings and they are amazed at the craftmanship. THanks so much for working with us on this. They now have a lifelong piece of furniture that will outlast cribs, carseats, etc. etc. and can be passed down to another generation.

It is the most beautiful piece in our nursery, by far and has already been praised as a "family heirloom" . . . I do look forward to rocking my baby come June.
March 10, 2008
We received the chair today and it is absolutely gorgeous and sure to be a family heirloom for generations to come. I have to admit that I was hesitant to order a chair over the Internet. But with all the great reviews and your guarantee I thought it was worth the risk. I am glad that I decided to take that risk. The chair is so comfortable and beautiful I am sure I would have a very hard time finding anything comparable locally. It also mean a lot to my wife and I that the piece is handmade. Just looking at the chair one can immediately knows the care and craftsmanship put into it. We feel very privileged to have such a work of art in our house.
Thank you very much,

Gary and Company,
A light snow has fallen overnight, dusting the trees and lake ice with powdery white. When the sun comes up, I'll do what has become one of my favorite things, take a quiet seat in your wonderful rocker and gaze out the window southeast through the woods and over the lake. The scene is surely serene, but the rocker adds immensely to that serenity. It envelopes and supports. It seems as timeless as the scene out the window. Oh, how I love to sit and look and rock.
My wife and I bought two of your rockers over a year ago. They were reciprocal gifts, emblems of a turning point in our lives, as our now grown children set out into the world and as we come to terms with our age and our quietude. Our fondest hope is to rock away together for another 35 years of marriage, and when that is done for our two children to take our rockers and continue on. The chairs are built for the generations to come. We use them now. I smile when I think of who may be using them in 100 years.
February 13, 2008
Sorry I haven't written to you sooner. I saw the beautiful rocker last Friday and had a chance to sit in it. Comfortable indeed!
. . . I can't tell you what a work of art the chair is. It will indeed make a wonderful heirloom in years to come.
I will get back to you in the future about the placque to be engraved under the seat of the rocker.
Swanzey, New Hampshire
PS: The chair was in a container secure enough to be part of Fort Knox.
January 11, 2008
We received it yesterday and it is beautiful. I've got a special place in my heart for my own, but M. really likes his. I won't tell him i got the better one.
Thanks again for the work on it and the attention to detail. It came out just as we wanted and as one guy here at work commented is "an heirloom" a real keeper. Please pass along my thanks to the folks there!

My wife and I love our new rocking chair. I thank Mr. Weeks for sending a rocking chair sooner than December second. My wife said that this rocking chair is now considered a family heirloom, and rightfully so, being that it is very well crafted.
My confidence in your company is based on how informative your website is. Plus your company is confident in your product. I admire that a lot. Plus talking on the phone with Mr. Weeks sealed the deal. I knew I was going to get a great product. I got more than that. I have something that will be passed down for generations to come.
Thank you so much for your product. Have a great Thanksgiving, Christmas and a wonderful new year. I will spread the word of your rocking chairs.
Until then . . .
September 17, 2007
Thanks for the message. My wife and I have been traveling a great deal so I apologize for the slow response. I was definitely wanting to write you after we had a chance to "sit" with the chair a bit (no pun intended ;-) and give you our thoughts.
In short, we really love it! Your work is as beautifully crafted and detailed as you communicate over the website and our expectations were not disappointed in any regard. My wife and I are different in size and honestly when we first pulled it out of the box, it's size and presence was larger than we expected. I believe we both thought it might be slightly smaller. As a result, I was worried that I would love it, but L. would potentially feel a bit dwarfed. However, I am not quite sure how you have done it, but you have managed to craft a chair that is comfortable for someone of my size 6' and 180lbs-ish and also for my wife of 5'-5" and petite weight . . . well done!
We both feel that it is extremely comfortable and has a very well balanced character of sturdiness with graceful and soft transitions in all the appropriate detail points. We both gain a tremendous amount of joy in just running our hands over the smooth maple arms and it is a real pleasure to "feel" excellent craftsmanship. One of my favorite details at the moment is the expressed connection at the edge of the armrest where it has been mortised all the way thru for the vertical support. However, I keep finding more "favorites" as I enjoy studying the subtleties as we go along.
The maple is beautiful and your level of finish is perfect. We really have no complaints and are thrilled that we now have such a beautiful piece that our children will grow up with and then have one day for their own. We might just be calling you up again for another one so that both our kids may have one to enjoy down the road!
Regarding the delivery, it turned out to be ok, but we were anticipating it on Tuesday the 11th so I am glad that someone was here to accept the delivery (we live in an apartment). Luckily, the chair was delivered with no damage so it did not matter in the end that we were not able to review the delivery condition prior to signing. I appreciate your follow up.
In closing, you are a true master craftsman and we feel blessed to have such a wonderful piece of functional art in our living room to enjoy for many years. Our thanks to you and your family and staff for the quality, professionalism, communication and follow thru. Having done this all remotely, you all have made the experience a very smooth and seamless one.

The chair is beautiful, she was surprised, and she loves it. Thanks for helping me make such a memorable birthday for my wife and for providing us with a piece of furniture that will become a family heirloom.

Today our son turned 6 months and we've had our beautiful rocker for just one week longer than that. Upon opening the crate I knew immediately that my wife and I really had our first work of art for our home. It compliments our nursery perfectly and would compliment the style of any room in our home that we might later choose for it. Your chair rocks like a champ and certainly served its purpose rocking our son to sleep for those first testing weeks. One thing I did not expect was for the chair to be so soft and touchable. I have never before experienced such incredible smoothness in a sanding job; nor have I seen any craftsmanship glow the way this chair does!
Now that your rocker has been officially crowned a family heirloom, I had to send you our sincerest thanks. Your special care in sizing and cutting our chair back inscription is priceless, and I recommend it to anyone looking to make their chair truly unique. You really do offer an incredible piece at truly a bargain price. You should continue to be proud of the work you and your shop turns out. I look forward to purchasing a dining room set from you in a few years when we are more capable. Thank you again!

The rocker is both an anniversary gift and will become an heirloom for our family. It is beautiful.
April 24, 2007
The chair arrived last Thursday without incident and we couldn't be happier. The wood and craftsmanship are superb. Anne's been sitting in the chair every free moment she gets and even dozed off in it the other night.
Thanks for a great transaction and for such a great chair. We're happy we found you, and we expect the chair to become a treasured family heirloom
future generations will fight over.

Thank you for your email and nice comment. The mountain has been a sacred place for more than 1000 years as is Mt. Fuji. Nowadays, however, people visit these places just for fun.
The rocking chair arrived safely this morning. The chair is more than I expected. First of all, it fits my body so well. The artistic curvature, especially the back, impressed me a lot. Now I can rock in this chair at night and enjoy a special liqueur made by
me with wild blueberries, which I picked at the top of Hakusan (the white mountain) just before snowfall. I witnessed that bears were fond of these blueberries, and ate huge amount just before hibernation.

P.S., Your work is marvelous and survives ages. In contrast,
although there are so many scientists, the majority of their work are forgotten as soon as they report their research.

Just wanted to let you know that we received our chair yesterday via UPS Freight. It arrived in excellent condition and is presently sitting in our living room. My wife loves it. I know we will cherish this chair for years and pass it on to our children.
Thanks for making this Christmas special.

The chair arrived and it is beautiful!
Our "late in life" baby came early, things actually started happening a few hours after I placed my order with you, and we could not be happier with either delivery. Our older daughters, both teenagers, have requested that the chair be passed onto them . . .
Thank you for your great creation and your wonderful customer service!
November 8, 2006
Just to let you know our two daughters are absolutely thrilled with their rockers.
So were we when the girls broke open the packages and we all saw what beautiful items they are. The workmanship is exquisite.
Fortunately we shipped them over unopened in your excellent packing cases: . . .
Thank you for our family heirlooms-to-be.

Greetings from Whistler, BC. Here are a few pictures of W. and Myself with our Weeks Rocker. As you can see in the second picture, the nursery is nearing completion with paint etc. . . . just a few things left to do . . . but the bags are packed in the event of an early arrival of baby.
We are so happy with the beautiful craftsmanship and obvious care that goes into the Weeks Rocker. As the pictures show, the rocker looks incredible in the room. The Chair far exceeded my expectation when ordering. The chair is the first family heirloom that W. and I have introduced to the family, and we look forward to future generations taking pride in having it be passed on in the family.
Thanks again for all your help in getting this chair to me on time. We will update you when the baby comes and be sure to send along a few photos with baby and us with the chair.

It arrived without a blemish. M. and K. were absolutely thrilled! The baby is due any day now and M.'s Mom is packed with a plane ticket in her purse. Thanks for the great design and workmanship. The plaque was also a surprise and they immediately realized they had a family heirloom, and a most useful one at that. The rocker will be put to a most valuable service very soon. I will be in Phoenix for Christmas and will get to see it and put it to use with the new grandson. What a thrill!
Thanks for the great job you and all your craftsmen and caring employees are doing. They clearly enjoy their work. It shows.

The Rocker just arrived, and we did a very thorough inspection right off the truck. It was in perfect condition.
I called your number right after I'd finished drooling over it . . . it is absolutely the most beautiful piece of furniture I own. It's amazingly comfortable, and the workmanship, the wood-piece symmetry you used, and every detail are just so perfect! You want a reference or testimonial, YOU GOT IT!
My sincere Thanks for building me something I will surely enjoy, and pass down from generation to generation.
April 21, 2006
Well, it was a busy day to say the least! We did receive the rocker today, and what a great looking rocker it is! Destined to be an heirloom, it all started today! Thanks to you, and your painstaking labors! Your talents and efforts were not in vain! I wanted to also, thank you for taking the extra time to make sure the rocker arrived properly. All is well at the W. household! Thank you again! Take care!

The rocking chair was delivered last evening without incident, and the driver was, as you suggested, much more cooperative than the dispatcher. That individual could use some training in giving some hope to the customer that maybe things won't be as complex as was described, and refraining from the definite "no's" about which she was adamant. A simple "it is the prerogative of the driver" would suffice.
The rocker is the epitomy of fine craftsmanship. The finish is impeccable. The quality and workmanship makes us know our great grandchildren will still have use of it in the future long after our rocking days are over.
November 6, 2005
Gary, the chair arrived and it is beautiful. It will have a special place in my family for generations.
It will also come in handy for the 3 month-old twins. You can put me in the column of satisfied customers.
Thank you for your graciousness.
August 9, 2005
I gotta tell you, yours is a unique business. I run a company that receives shipments in excess of $300,000/year I have NEVER had a vendor track a shipment like you, even when that shipment was worth over $50,000. I'm always the one trying to chase stuff down. I can only assume this is indicative of the quality of work you do everywhere.
August 11, 2005
R. called the carrier on Tuesday morning. They said they'd give her number to the driver who would call and arrange for delivery.
He didn't call.
It didn't matter, she was home. The chair came in yesterday.
There was very minor damage to the crate, but the chair is fine.
The chair is better than fine, it's beautiful. I took lots of pictures of R. opening the crate, removing the bubble wrap, and sitting in it right there in the garage before we could even get it in the house! It was like a neighborhood event with multiple neighbors stopping by. I took more pictures of her and the chair in the new nursery. I can't wait to take pictures of her rocking our first, little F., due in 4
weeks. If you're dying to see your chair in action, let me know and I'll email you some.
We are very pleased with our purchase. I had no idea the chair would be as solid as it is; the seat, the arms, the legs, everything is nice and thick. We planned for this chair to be in our family for generations, and that will obviously be no problem. We've been working on the nursery for a while, but last night R. called me in, and with tears in her eyes told me that the room now feels like the baby's room.
R's already talking about how she needs the footstool; we'll have to check the budget.
Feel free to use us as a satisfied customer reference. R. said "This is not only the most comfortable rocking chair I have ever sat in, but one of the most comfortable chairs period."
Gary, your work is outstanding and we appreciate it.

I have a brother, actually two, who work in wood, furniture as well as restoration carpentry. I have also handled tools and sanded surfaces to silk. I know what it must have taken to make #1326. The design, the careful matching, the wood, the electricity, the smoothing and rubbing the man hours, to say nothing of the packing and shipping and making a living and whatall else. Just because I spent what I consider a large sum to indulge myself, doesn't mean that I don't respect that it is worth every penny. And, my potentially old curmudgeon son has a tangible inheritance to remember me by.
Just wait till those brothers see . . . !
June 10, 2005
We finally decided to keep the chair, it's just too beautiful and comfortable to return. The chair is so close to what we have been looking for in a rocker that it would be foolish to make the width of the chair too much of an issue. Our daughter really loves rocking with us, she laughs and giggles and it's wonderful to see how much she, too, enjoys the rocker. Is it possible that the wood has started changing colors? It seems to me that the wood is already richer and darker than when the chair first arrived even though it seems kind of quick to me.
Thanks again for your help and comments; the chair will be a great memory for us, especially when we will return to Europe someday. We love things that are built to last and not to toss and it's wonderful to see that this kind of work you provide still exists!

Lovely Number 1326 has arrived. For some odd reason the anticipation peaked when my screwdriver and your screws resisted each other, but with patience I revealed our treasure chair. It is perfect. As I was removing the bubblewrap, my son and two friends came home. They laughed at me. I guess I looked pretty thrilled. We tested it for comfort and have all declared it wonderful. Each of us slid into the seat with a sigh and from 110 lbs/5'6" to 180 lbs/6', all of us felt the chair was made for us. C. remarked that it isn't only a chair, but a work of art and L. gazed at the figure and traced it with her fingers, noting all the swirls and silky, seamless lines.
If I haven't sufficiently conveyed it, I am delighted and the next generation promises to rock on his porch when he is an old curmudgeon.
Best regards and gratitude to all involved in # 1326's creation.
PS: I must secretly admit that spending all that money (huge for me), sight unseen, no word-of-mouth recommendation based solely on your good looking website, was a bit unnerving for me, but I decided to believe . . . and am glad I did. S.

Dear Gary, Leslie and Company,
I wanted to let you know that your gorgeous rockers arrived here yesterday in perfect condition. The toughest part was deciding which one to keep and which to give to my mom. They are both beautiful, yet very different. I have already rocked the baby to sleep twice in the chairs. I only wish I'd had them sooner. S. really likes running her little hands over the arms of the chairs and looking closely at the patterns in the wood. She is a very detail oriented baby! (Must be her dad's influence as it sure isnΉt mine.) I am sure we will love them for generations to come. I keep telling S. that someday that chair will be hers.
Thank you again for your beautiful work. I would recommend your chairs to anyone.
N. and S. (and husband C. too)
PS: At 5'5", 6'2" and 27" we all fit comfortably in the chair.
May 23, 2005
We just received our gorgeous rocking chair delivered perfectly to Amsterdam this afternoon. My husband and I are really thrilled with it! Thank you so much for creating something so special for us as we expect our first child. It's a beautiful heirloom treasure which I am sure will be passed on to future generations!
(Also, thank you so much for your promptness in correspondence, your precise time table and impeccable packing and delivery.)
All the best,
Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Gary, unfortunately I have not seen or rocked in your rocker, but short I. and tall R. just think it is fabulous. They can't figure out how it fits both of them. That is okay, some secrets must remain! Thank you for sending a rocker for generations of our family. It has been a pleasure working with you.

I have to tell you how thrilled I am with the rocker. It is incredibly comfortable, just as you said it would be. The mahogany is also a perfect fit and perfect match for our adobe home. It couldn't be more perfect.
My husband and mother and I are all in love with the piece, it is a real work of art and I know will be an heirloom in the family.
Many many thanks,

They just delivered the rocking chair, and it is perfect! Beautiful! Wonderful!
You warned me it would be a different color than the other cherry rocker you made me (#629 in 2000), but the contrast was surprising. My older chair is a beautiful rosy color now and I had never realized how it had changed. Now that I know, it will be fun to watch the progress of the new chair.
The delivery folks were a joy to work with very friendly setting up the delivery date, and excellent service when they arrived.
My two grown daughters will no longer have to fight over who "inherits" my
rocker. I just hope they don't decide to bump me off so they won't have to wait!
Thank you again for such a wonderful addition to the family. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays or whatever applies . . .

Yes, I received the chair in excellent condition. I just opened it this morning and gave it a test run and it looks and feels GREAT! What a beautiful piece of work. I'm torn between saving it until Christmas to give to K. or go ahead and give it to her now so she can enjoy it immediately. The baby isn't due until February, but she could use it now, I'm sure.
Thanks for making and sending such a great product. I look forward to the day that I can pass it down to my children for them to use many years from now.

Do I like it?
Oh yes! It made me so happy I felt silly and self conscious at the effusive email I began writing to you soon after it arrived. I decided
to wait until I cooled off a bit.
It's everything you said it would be. My husband, seven year old son and I all agree it's incredibly comfortable and beautiful. A true heirloom piece. Wow. We love it! We touch it all the time. My son accuses me of sitting in it too much. I had to agree to take turns.
I am so happy and grateful that you and your people came through. I've dealt with a lot of different dealers and contractors recently. Most have been very disappointing to work with . . . problems with communication, integrity, quality and other issues have clouded the interaction. It's strangely life affirming to deal with you and have
everything happen as promised. Whew! What a relief! THANK YOU!
Oh yeah, the box it came in is a perfect hideout/playhouse for the kid. He's decorated it inside and out and plays in it every day. Thanks for the bonus!
I hope it pleases you to know that you have made this family in San Diego so happy. Please keep your high standards. The world needs more like you!

The rocker arrived safely, and it's beautiful. It has joined our family of chairs in the living room, and I must say that it looks quite happy to be there. I've put it so that its wonderful curly patterns are visible from the doorway, and will draw the eyes of people as they walk in. My kids will fight over this, for sure! Thanks you are a lovely man to work with.
I want to let you know what surprised me about the rocker: its heft. Somehow that does not come across in your photos, or didn't to me. I knew its dimensions, and at some point I actually got out my tape measure and figured out how high it would stand, but I didn't realize, until it arrived, how strong and substantial it would be. I really, really like that about it.
(maybe someday I'll get a second one, for the family room!)

The rocker has arrived and is beautiful. How fortunate you are to have the gift of creating such beautiful things. And I am fortunate to get to share in your talents.
I think it will "rock on" in my family for many generations.

Dear Mr. Weeks,
The chair was delivered as scheduled, and arrived in perfect condition. We are most pleased with the rocker in terms of comfort, beauty, design and workmanship. The joints are immaculate, a delight to the hand, and the grains as nearly symmetrical as human art could achieve. It is everything I
hoped, and then some.
P.S. My Weeks cherry rocker reminds me of a rosewood desk by Sam Maloof that I had a chance to buy for $800 about 40 years ago. I have often regretted my inability to afford that desk, which would now be a museum piece, but I expect the sting to fade in the enjoyment of your magnificent chair.

Received the Terrell Side tables yesterday. They are fantastic! Your shipping containers are as well thought out as are the pieces you make. They arrived perfectly and are beside my bed with the rocker and footstool
at their side. Being an old woodworker, I can say that your work is impeccable and exquisitely done. Thanks again. They will become heirlooms someday.

Yes Gary the chair has arrived and my wife really does love it. It arrived on Tuesday and I have been so busy we just unpacked it last night. I received it and reviewed the packaging which was in great shape. The chair is in fine shape as well. I was very impressed with the craftsmanship especially with regard to the attention paid to the grain in the wood and how it all came together in the construction of the chair. As you had promised and we expected this will be one of the highly cherished parts of our family for many generations.
Thanks so very much,

Just got home and unwrapped the bubble wrap. (My wife was kind enough to let me do the unveiling.) Gorgeous was the first word that came to mind. Your workmanship is truly lovely and the one concern I had the mesquite pattern would be too busy turned out to be totally unfounded. I am SO GLAD I treated myself to that wood.
Your creation immediately took over the corner next to the fireplace in the bedroom. It sits next to an adobe accent wall under a recessed light that has a dimmer. It is at the moment under a 1/3 power dimmer . . . glowing.
Thank you very much. I intend to get a LOT of pleasure out of your creation and pass it on with delight to whoever the hell lasts longer than I do. I know the chair will :).

I couldn't thank you enough. She, and everyone that attended the shower, absolutely loved it. I think every woman at the shower had to take her turn sitting in the rocker. It is truly a work of art. Several veteran mothers commented on the design features that must apparently make breastfeeding while rocking a much more comfortable experience I wouldn't know. Notably, I heard the height of the armrests and the back support as being the most well thought-out design features for the chair. I'm sure some of them will be checking out your website as I had repeated it enough times throughout the party.
I guess I'll be talking to you again in the next few years. We are planning to have another baby and I would like to pass the chair on to each child as an heirloom.
Thanks again for your excellent craftsmanship. It's a rare thing these days.

It is so nice to finally write you after silently getting to know you via your e-mails to Chris. I often feel it is difficult to get to know someone thorough writing, but we both feel that, through this huge venture, we have gained a friend. Your genuine spirit could be felt with every e-mail written and now that we have your beautiful rocking chair here, we will miss the frequent correspondence we've so looked forward to. Hopefully it doesn't have to end and we can continue writing every so often.
Gary, I knew that your rocking chairs were made with precision, hand-made care, and were beautiful just by reading your well organized website. But when opening the huge box to slide the chair out, my mouth completely dropped. Your work is phenomenal and I was speechless. The design, color, documentation, signature inscription, incredibly, smooth finish, etc. were more than I expected. The tender loving care that you and your company gave to making and shipping this chair was/is felt the minute one goes to touch it, let alone sit in it. I know that this heirloom will be much enjoyed for the years to come by the three of us (we just found out that we are pregnant!). Thank you, Gary, for your superior work. You are certainly an artist and we are lucky to have found you.
Now it's C. writing, what can I say that C. didn't already perfectly express? The chair is just gorgeous! We had no problems with the shipping, everything went very smoothly, and the chair arrived in perfect condition, safely and securely crated. It is clearly a work of art and I know it will fit very nicely into our home. What surprised me most was when I touched the chair and first sat in it. The finish is amazing! I did not believe wood could be worked to such a fine finish. And it is also very comfortable! Both C. and I have had only limited time up till now to enjoy it, but every time we sit in it we are surprised at how comfortable it is without having to use any cushions. I noticed in particular that if I sit up straight with my rear against the back of the chair then it gives me a wonderful even support of my entire back that feels very nice. I believe I can easily fall asleep in your rocker!
Thank you Gary! We will keep in touch!

Dear Kind Sweet Sir,
Have got to let you know how much I appreciate the work that you do. My rocker is perhaps the most elegant rocker in all of creation. You truly do amazing work that will be cherished in our family for a long time to come. Thank you for my main seat. I now understand what I. has been making such a fuss about for so long.
With such appreciation,
The New M.H.

Hi Gary et al,
I purchased your rocking chair at Solstice for my wife.
It has been a wonderful addition to our home. We love it and everyone who visits us and sits in it loves it. It is amazing that one chair can fit so many sizes and shapes of people, but this chair does it with style and grace.
One comment from our grown children was "Who will inherit this heirloom?" A little premature to be concerned with but an interesting thought.
Hope your business is going well.

We adore our cherry Mitchell Trestle table, and our star-inlayed chairs are by far the most comfortable imaginable. Thank you for working with us to custom-design a table that fits the dimensions of our home, and for creating a hand-planed tabletop that looks great and will survive the wear and tear from our kids. Our Gary Weeks table will surely be one of our prized Texas heirlooms.

Thank you so much for a wonderful handcrafted Rocker. What a gift it is being able to create such a beautiful piece of furniture that will last forever and make generations to come happy. It's so wonderful and N., our 10-week old girl, loves being rocked in it. Please find Mommy and Daddy whilst enjoying rocking little N.

Gary and Leslie,
I love my chair. Thank you for a fabulous piece of art. I will enjoy it for years, as well as my children and grandchildren to come. I can't decide whether to sit in it or look at it!

Dear Gary & Company:
I received the rocker last week and unpacked it as you recommended. It arrived in perfect shape.
The rocker is awesome! The craftsmanship and attention to detail is a special talent. I know that mesquite wood is a challenge to find and hard to work, but you have created an heirloom piece that my wife and I know will have a special inheritance. At present it is by the back door where it is used multiple times daily it will have a special place in the office I am going to add to our home.
Debbie and I are looking forward to coming to your workshop one day.

Dear Leslie and Gary,
It was really fun visiting you and two of your offspring, and touring your interesting and amazing workshop. Hope you've received some rain and are not suffering too much from the heat.
Unlike the chair pictured on this notecard (which is not lacking in personality and charm), our Weeks Rocker is a thing of beauty. Comfortable. Gorgeous. We are so thrilled! Thank you, Gary, for creating such a lovely, perfect work of art. Our descendants will enjoy it too.

Dear Leslie and Gary,
B. drove over 400 miles today to surprise me with your chair #6. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when I walked in the house!
The rocking chair is a perfect blend of art and engineering. It is absolutely wonderful! We've placed it by the fireplace where it belongs.
You've created a family heirloom a real treasure. Thank you sincerely for using your talent in such a lovely way.
