Gary,
Yes, we received the bar stools last Thursday and we absolutely love them!! I have been intending to send you an email, but have been so busy for the past week, this is the first time I have even turned-on my computer at home.
The bar stools are gorgeous. I love looking at them and running my hands over them. The smoothness and workmanship is superb, and the cherry wood is beautiful. One of my sisters was over at my house last Saturday and she was just enthralled with them. My husband and I have always in the past sat at our dinner table to eat all meals, but now we only want to sit in the bar stools at our kitchen island. We love them and they will always be very special to us.
Thank you so much. We are very satisfied customers!

Gary,
Your timing is excellent.
They contacted me Monday and delivered yesterday around 5 PM. The dispatch person was very courteous and professional. They gave me a small delivery window, 47 PM, and they arrived when they said.
The chairs are in perfect shape.
They are now around our dining room table. They look very nice.
We are very pleased. Thank you for the chairs. And thank you for the trouble-free experience buying them.
All the best to you and your team.
Your happy customer, M. Redwood City, California

Gary,
We received the table and chairs this morning and they are awesome. The wood looks a lot better than I thought it would. The attention to detail you and your guys did is amazing. I really appreciate what you have done for me. You were a real pleasure to work with.
The whole process to get to the finish project was something I will never forget and you were a big part of it. Most people will look at the table and chairs and think it is some real fine furniture. My daughter will look at it and know how much she means to me, and I will look at it and think of it as an amazing adventure.
Thanks for everything. R. Conroe, Texas

Gary,
It certainly has been a real pleasure working with you as well. We are extremely pleased with our furniture. The figure on the table top is
incredible, and the figure detail in the chair seats wow!. It's only going to get better as the wood ages. These are true pieces of art and we could not be happier. When the set is all together we'll take some great pictures and send them to you.
Many thanks to you and your team! D.H. Nashua, New Hampshire

Gary
I just got home from work. I opened and fell in love with your carefully shipped Williams chair. Thank you. Wow! You and your artist-craftsmen are gifted and create beautiful furniture of impeccable quality.
I will get back with you shortly about returning the sample chair and, most likely, placing an order. I want others in my family to test sit in the chair before I place the order.
Thank you, again.
With regards, M. Annapolis, Maryland

Hi Gary,
Our dining chairs arrived recently, and I can't tell you how pleased we are.
They're comfortable and so beautiful, a source of pleasure all the way around. Ever since we completed our family's first-grandbaby-Weeks-rocking-chair program, my husband has longed to own a Weeks chair himself. Now he has six, and couldn't be happier.
Thank you for your craftsmanship. L. and J. Pittsburg, Pennsylvania

Hi again Gary those rocking chairs have been a source of pleasure for the mothers, the fathers, the grandparents, AND the babies. Now that they are getting big, the kids settle in with a book, although they all like sitting with a squishy grownup who will read to them. Those rockers rank up there with education as money well spent.
Thanks again. L.

Hello Gary,
I got your note at my office this morning. The stools and bench arrived in great shape, that freight company has at least one pair of polite and professional drivers.
You failed to adequately describe the stool seats, I thought mesquite of
that clarity was reserved for Texas governors and oil executives.

Gary,
DBSchenker delivered the chairs Friday. No problems at all! A couple of the hot-glued foam bumpers had fallen off in transit but everything was well packed and intact. My parents just came to visit and I think both of them covet the rocker. We're quite a mix of heights my mother's feet are well off the floor when in the Williams chair and my father is almost 6 feet. But everyone wants to be in it. If you get another D. order soon, it's because this one arrived just in time!
The dining chairs are also surprisingly light! It was unexpected for such a solid feeling piece of furniture to move so easily.
I hope you and your family have a good Memorial day.

Dear Gary,
R. and I want you to know how much we like our new dining room chairs, and
how much we appreciate your work. The chairs are so comfortable that we can now enjoy leisurely meals and conversation around the table without having to get up due to soreness from sitting too long. And they are beautiful! The chairs are identical and each one is different. They look and feel the same, but variations in the wood grain give each one an individual character. So in addition to having great seating for us and our guests at dinnertime, we find we have added works of art to our home. The quality of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail and finishing that went into these chairs is apparent whether we are looking at them, sitting in them, or both. We expect they will become family heirlooms and be enjoyed by our successors for generations to come.
Thank you. R. and J. Wimberley, Texas

Gary,
Yes, it all arrived in great condition, and we're very pleased. Finally, we'll have plenty of room for big family gatherings. The second rocker is next to the first, facing west out of our big living room window, so my husband and I can watch sunsets together. The kitchen barstools are the most comfortable I've ever sat on.

The table did indeed finally arrive and we love it. It fits perfectly. I like it best with the leaf in the length fills the dining room best that way. Makes me think I should get two more chairs but that may be a while. My bank account has to recover. :-) Thank you so much for your beautiful work.

Gary, I just received it and all is beautiful! The delivery people called and kept in contact all day it was dreadful traffic today in Miami with the VP here and freeways closed poor guys, they were very careful and communicated with me.
The table is the perfect size for the area and the chairs and the table are pieces of art however, the rocker beats all!! I love it thank you for such wonderful and comfortable work.
Take care. And thank you again. K. Coral Gables, Florida

Gary,
Well the furniture has now been ensconced in our dining room for four days and it is wonder-full!
The delivery went smoothly with good communication from Jeff, the driver, en route to our location. Jeff was a very courteous, accommodating man who has many years of furniture experience under his belt. All of the pieces arrived in perfect condition.
Of course we knew the quality of your work since we now have some mileage on our rocking chairs. Nevertheless, we are thrilled with our dining room set. We had originally been searching for a dining table with a smaller footprint than the one that we have been living
with for the past 12 years. When we stumbled upon your comprehensive, well-organized website, we were intrigued and pleased to find that we could:
- learn about the whole cast of characters at Gary Weeks Furnituremakers,
- explore the process of FSC certification and link to the website of your supplier,
- and educate ourselves about the history of your relationship with wood and the process of design, selection and finishing of the reverently-arranged material.
We had a very nice table, yet it is so nice to have one that's more suitable for just the two of us. And the generously-sized leaves will give us ample space when large gatherings are the order of the day.
Thank you so much for the luminous enhancement to the quality of our daily lives.
All the best, ME. and K. Prescott, Arizona
P.S. Just need to add one more comment which integrates a quote that I am borrowing from a friend: The finish on your furniture is so refined that it's "Soft as a Pillow!" ~~ME

December 23, 2008
Gary,
Its all here safe and sound. It looks like it has been there forever. The table top is remarkable. The time taken to lay out the boards in a way that balances the figures is obvious, and very much appreciated. I looked at all of the seats, they are all very nicely matched too. I'll send some pictures with comments in a few days. Im amazed at the correspondence between the figures on the seats and human sitting anatomy.
The fellows who delivered the furniture did a really great job getting it in. They did finally take off the top but only after sizing up the door situation themselves. It was a 1/2 inch socket and well as you would expect, that was the only one missing from my set. A quick trip to the hardware store solved that.
Thanks so much Merry Christmas to you and yours J. and T.A. Plattsburgh, New York

Hi Gary,
I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving. You may recall that when we first spoke I inquired as to how a wooden chair could be comfortable for dining. You responded by sending me one. We now own 24 of your chairs. I wish to report that 15 of them were occupied for our holiday meal. That's the maximum we can get around our table. We sat for 4 hours in perfect comfort. I call that the acid test.
All the best, A.M. Santa Monica, California

The furniture was delivered yesterday at 4:00. The delivery men took care of unwrapping and setting up the table and chairs. Your work is museum quality. Each piece is a work of art that I will cherish and proudly pass on to my children. And, as advertised, the chairs are unbelievably comfortable.
Thank you, D.S. Olivette, Missouri
July 26, 2008
Dear Gary,
I first saw your furniture advertisement in the New Yorker magazine in 1998. I marvelled then at the beauty of your designs especially your dining room chairs and tables. And, I could not believe the claim of a wood chair being comfortable for long periods of conversation or extended reading. Ten years of wishing for a beautiful dining room table and chairs has now become a reality. My 6 maple Wilson dining room chairs and Paschall table are not only exquisitely crafted but extraordinarily comfortable for dining, conversation, and reading a reader's favorite chair.

The Gary Weeks Rocker: Mesquite Glass is yet to compare to its smoothness. Exquisite elegance that can go from a log cabin to the White House, from "Maws" porch to the Smithsonian and never be out of place. Truly an antique in the future that will be a prized treasure. Beauty that delights the eye and blessed for the body to behold!
The Dining Chair. Walnut An unmatched masterpiece. I have never owned nor had the pleasure of dining in a chair with such character. The lumbar support while eating and the support of the thighs is unparralled in the dining experience. Buy the Best First and youll never regret it! Gary Weeks is an artist that quickly becomes a friend~!

Hi Gary:
Thanks buddy, the art work arrived today in perfect shape. In fact, I'm sitting on your fantastic walnut side chair as I'm writing this. My ass feel great and Marilyn is able to recognize me by the "J" on the back
of your chair, which by the way is tasteful and beautiful. You ARE da man!

Gary,
Thanks for writing. I should have written you by now.
The chairs arrived on schedule and are beautiful as well as extremely comfortable. They are in our kitchen around a table that L.s dad refinished 30 years ago and had featured prominently in her childhood. The chairs work very well with the table esthetically, too. I suspect we will end up ordering 6 more for the dining room eventually.
The mahogany sample was clearly marked and has been set aside for a rendezvous with our furniture painter.
Best to all, and thanks for the info about Marshall.

LOVE THE CHAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haven't had the chance to write. They are gorgeous. Thank you! All the workmen, too, are envious of the workmanship. So fine.
I'll be hosting many a fine, long meal with them, for sure.
All the best, and thanks B.S. Garrison, New York

Gary,
I ate dinner in the Wilson. I have never dined in a chair that forced me into an ergonomically correct position. It's a totally different experience than slouching and squirming through a meal. Now that I see (or rather, feel) what you can do with comfort, I am not going to let you get away with anything less on the low-back chair. [ I sent E. a prototype of a low-back dining chair. As she says: I don't have it right yet. GW ] In fact, I am sitting in my home office IN THE WILSON typing this yes, I absconded with it after dinner, and my schoolhouse desk chair has been exiled to the hallway.
I'm truly glad to be helpful, Gary. If I had it my way, we would only cut our precious trees to produce furniture of uncompromising quality.

We are absolutely in love with our new chairs! We like to spend a lot of time at our dining table, and this really makes it special (and comfortable!).

Gary,
The table and chairs arrived Tuesday, and I just got the time to unwrap them last night. They are beautiful, as expected, and the table is indeed a nice size and looks good with just the two chairs. My small dinette set for two is perfectly proportioned; we did an excellent job of deciding upon the right size for the table top.
The color of the wood is not quite what I expected. It is a very neutral brown without any discernable red, green, or purple tinge, and it is a little lighter than anticipated. It is quite simply "brown" and, being not too dark and not too light, I am confident that it will go well in any setting I may find for it. (I plan to move a lot in the next few years.)
The grain on the table top is beautiful, and as you say, it is difficult to see the seams where the boards are glued together. I even went as far as to tape a piece of twine from edge to edge, along the seams to expose them. Still, there are areas where the grain of one board flows so well into the grain of the next, that it is quite impossible to follow any seam the entire length of the table!
The chairs are comfortable, just like my others, and I don't think I will miss the arms at all. The figure of the grain on the seat tops is stunning. Too bad most people won't see it, with the chairs shoved up to the table.
Thanks again for your work and dedication. You truly produce works of art. I am eagerly anticipating the introduction of the extra-large rocker. (Get to work!!) Hopefully by the time I retire. :-)

Hi Gary,
The two Wilson Arm Chairs arrived. There was a small ding in the middle of one side corner of the box; we cut part of the box away which showed that there was lots of clearance between the corner and the foam inside.
The two chairs are as beautiful as we thought they would be and we're very pleased with the way that they sit they are very comfortable!
And of course they look good in place at the ends of our table.
Thanks much for everything.
Cheers J. and M. M. Irvine, California

Hi Gary,
Sorry for the delay. The chairs are beautiful, my friend R. C. delivered our new dining table last Sat. and we all sat together and laughed a lot. I am afraid my crazy life won't give me time today to truly express how much I enjoy both the look and feel of the chairs though I imagine I'll have 30 40 years to reflect on it and sooner or later the real letter will write itself. I hope that I can spread the word about your furniture and send some deserving sitters your way.
Thanks for the lifestyle change, all the best,
I.C. Bar Harbor, Maine

Gary,
they're here!
and they are STUNNING. absolutely gorgeous. the proportions with the new leg bracings are perfect. thanks so much, Gary. these will be a family treasure for many generations!
can you tell me how they're finished, and what we should do as far as maintenence. our walnut table we try to wax once a year. what should we do to keep the chairs happy?
also, our table has some reddish and gold hues that, if memory serves, were not nearly as present when the table was first built 6 years ago. the dining room faces west with huge picture windows across the west wall. would sunlight bring out those shades in walnut, or is that a function of the finish, or
just a different color of walnut?
after many long years of searching, we finally have chairs that look like they were made for our lonely table. AND the arrival couldn't have been more perfectly timed. thanks again, Gary. keep in touch, and if you ever come thru nashville, make sure you let us know.

Gary:
We adore our cherry Mitchell Trestle table, and our star-inlayed chairs are by far the most comfortable imaginable. Thank you for working with us to custom-design a table that fits the dimensions of our home, and for creating a hand-planed tabletop that looks great and will survive the wear and tear from our kids. Our Gary Weeks table will surely be one of our prized Texas heirlooms.
Sincerely, D. and L.J. Austin, Texas

Dear Gary,
I couldn't wait to drop you a note to tell you how much I love our two new walnut Wilson chairs! They are absolutely gorgeous--truly pieces of art!!! We feel so fortunate to have acquired them, and they look fabulous on either side of our sideboard in the living room. We truly do appreciate all the craftsmanship, time, effort, and attention to detail that went into these fabulous chairs, and simply had to let you know how much we love them. We keep sitting in them and running our hands over the wood . . . well, you get the picture.
Again, thank you so very, very much for these beautiful chairs!
Sincerely, K.W. College Station, Texas
