I designed the Terrell Side Table to accompany the Weeks Rocker and provide a top for a lamp or a beverage, a shelf for books or magazines, and a drawer for whatever. While designed to set beside our rocking chair, the table can also serve the same purposes as an end table or nightstand.
The Terrell Side Table articulates many visual elements of the Rocking Chair: four slats, turned legs, exposed joinery, faired intersections, matched figure, and fine finish. The twelve mortise and tenon joints (through and wedged), the dovetail drawer, and the seamless leg to rail transitions would challenge the talents, and patience, of any woodworker. These tables are so time consuming and challenging to build that we only undertake them once or twice a year. Sometimes, therefore, it is a while before we can deliver.
