The Harris Stool can be used as a foot stool when sitting in a Weeks Rocking Chair, or you can sit on it. The curved top cradles the calves or the posterior and displays a pleasing line and surface.
We turn the legs to a round tenon, pass them through holes in the seat, and wedge them on the topside. Sanded smooth, the end grain of the leg and the wedge decorate the top. This is a picture of Robin and Bela Weeks in a Weeks Rocker. Robin has her legs and feet on a Harris Stool. The stool is made for elevating the feet and legs while relaxing — not so much for rocking, but for finding an angle of repose.
