Finishing

We maintain 78 degrees and 50% relative humidity in the finishing and drying rooms.  We recirculate the air through a VOC scrubber, changing and cleaning it every 12 minutes.  This control and filtration makes for an optimum finish and good working conditions.

Kitty floods oil on the chair and keeps it wet to satisfy the porosity of the wood.  The first coat reveals the natural color of the wood.

It is essential to blow any excess oil out of the intersections.

When the wood has absorbed what it will, we wipe off ALL the excess oil from the surface.

After the chairs dry in the rack for at least 48 hours, we sand them and repeat the oiling process . . . and then again, a third time.
