We do not stain our cherry.  We bring out its natural color and enliven its figure with an oil finish.  Exposure to light over time darkens cherry, so that it achieves a color and depth that cannot be obtained from a can.  See the two tabletops below for a comparison of freshly finished and two year old cherry.

The cherry we use is provided by Kane Hardwoods.  It is certified to be sustainably harvested from well-managed forests by the Forest Stewardship Council.  Using certified wood is the cornerstone of our commitment to "green furniture."  For more information about cherry, Kane Hardwoods, and the Forest Stewardship Council, click on the underlined links.
