The chair was delivered as scheduled, and arrived in perfect condition.  We are most pleased with the rocker in terms of comfort, beauty, design and workmanship.  The joints are immaculate, a delight to the hand, and the grains as nearly symmetrical as human art could achieve.  It is everything I hoped, and then some.

Cherry wood is surprisingly light in color when new, but ages to a rich, red brown in a short while — a year makes a big difference.  See the new and the two-year-old cherry rocking chairs compared here.  Cherry is easy to match into controlled displays of figure.  Scattered dark mineral streaks are typical marks of character.  (Click for more information about Cherry.)

The wood* in our cherry rocking chairs is Forest Stewardship Council certified.  Our "chain-of-custody" certification assures you that the wood was harvested from well-managed forests, and assures us that there will be fine wood to work in the future.

* On very rare occasion (not once a year), we have had to buy a small amount of uncertified wood to stay on schedule or produce custom work.  If it is important that your furniture be chain-of-custody certified, we will make sure that it is.
