A comfortable dining chair is hard to design and to make.  To support this contention, I submit as evidence most, maybe all, of the chairs you ever sat in.  Most wooden dining chair parts are flat and straight or round and straight.  The people who sit in them are curved and contoured.

Even an upholstered chair must reflect and respect human curves, contours, and proportions to be successful.
